Between 1764 and 1775, the Empress undertook to acquire some of the world's finest works of art, and she succeeded in her aim to a large extent. The Hermitage housing more than 3 million works of the world's art is annually visited by 3 million people. Is opening its doors to the public

A new weekly train service has just been launched between Vatican City and Castel Gondolfo in the Alban hills fifteen miles away that's home to the Papal summer palace and vacation retreat. Pope Francis has already opened the palace gardens to visitors. A newly-curated museum inside the historic structure will display priceless artifacts, vestments and other symbols of the once-great Papal States. The terrace views stretch all the way to Rome.

The rail service will feature modern trains and tour packages, which must be booked online in advance through the Vatican Museum and costs range from 30-40 Euros.
