Philippines

Consisting of some 7,100 volcanic islands and islets, many of which don't even have a name, the Philippines seems to float on its own in the Pacific. Diving in the Philippines has more or less everything, and it is all in warm waters. Whale sharks in Donsol, thresher sharks in Malapascua and the world famous Tubbataha Reef to name but a few world-famous spots. On land there is much to see, making this a great place for a land and sea combo.

When it comes to luxury, Amanpulo is still the place to beat with its impossibly perfect white sandy beach. But now with the private islands of Ariara, Pangulasian and a host of other new openings, this is now on the map as a luxury destination rather than just being for the more 'hardcore' divers out there.
